The Spherotourbillon is part of the Duometre line, a line in which all watches use the "dual-wing" concept. Essentially, all Duometre watches from JLC have two separate power sources - one for time keeping and one for regulation / complication. The reasoning behind using two mainsprings in a watch is simple - when a complication is in use, it may in fact pull power away from the timekeeping aspects of the watch.
